NPSWU STATEMENT ON WORKERS ACCESSING THEIR PENSIONS

NPSWU would partially support the accessing of pensions if it was a last resort but critically meant to resolve the quadruple effects of poverty, inequality, unemployment and CORRUPTION BUT alas No!!, it will instead throw our workers deep into crisis

NPSWU believes that workers issues are community issues and community issues are labour issues, so Union are reformists in nature and therefore we prefer and recommend a more radical approach that can only be taken by madmen to avoid a distressed lockdown generation and that is: the latest SA’s population figures as of 28/06/20 is 59,3million so we say give every citizen R1million each, R59,3 million untaxed, young and old, green and yellow, rich and poor pay no grants and redirect the funds to service delivery urgently prioritising land, water, health, electricity, education and proper roads starting with the most rural. NPSWU says with this the country including the workers will get themselves out of this quagmire with 85%-90% of the challenges resolved and 10%-15% will be prodigal.

The starting point is a survey by researchers, journalist, etc to lay the groundwork in asking: IF YOU ARE GIVEN R1MILLION WHAT WOULD YOU DO?

Thomas Sankara;

‘’You cannot carry out fundamental change without a certain degree of madness. In this case, it comes from nonconformity, the courage to turn your back on the old formulas, the courage to invent the future. It took the madmen of yesterday for us to be able to act with extreme clarity today. I want to one of those madmen. We must dare to invent the future’’

Viva NPSWU Viva!!!!Long live the undying, uncompromising, relentless spirit of the workers Long Live!!!!!
