NPSWU strongly regrets the unbundling of Eskom as was revealed by President Ramaphosa during SONA 2019. It is our view that the eventual results of such an undertaking is highly detrimental to the poor of the poorest and the working class. We forsee unavoidable job losses whilst already currently seated at above 30% unemployment that is unacceptable.
We are likely to witness a further escalation to the current existing crisis. Should we allow this to proceed.
We further submit that should he proceed with this unbundling of Eskom which has not been properly communicated with the Labour represantatives.
Electricity prices will balloon up to unaffordable prices to both the poor and even working class.
