The National Public Service Workers Union (NPSWU) is proud to announce the successful conclusion of its Recruit & Win Competition 2026, a national membership recruitment campaign aimed at rewarding members who actively contributed to growing the union.
The campaign officially came to an end with a LIVE winner’s draw held on 1 July 2026, streamed on NPSWU’s social media platforms to ensure transparency and allow members from across the country to share in the excitement.
🏆 Mr Sihle Buthelezi
Dedicated Shop Steward from KwaZulu-Natal
After the draw, Mr Sihle Buthelezi was announced as the lucky winner of a fully paid trip for two including travelling costs, accommodation at Garden Court and tickets to the Hollywood Bets Durban July. The prize was later officially handed over before Mr Buthelezi and his partner travelled to Durban to enjoy an unforgettable experience.
The Recruit & Win Competition formed part of NPSWU’s ongoing commitment to strengthening its membership while recognizing the efforts of members who continue to champion the organisation within their workplaces. Throughout the campaign, members embraced the challenge by recruiting new colleagues into the union, helping to expand NPSWU’s footprint across the country.
“This competition was about more than just winning a prize. It was about recognizing members who believe in our organisation enough to encourage others to become part of it. The response from our members was encouraging, and we are grateful to every organiser, shop steward, provincial office and staff member who supported the campaign from beginning to end.”
— National Secretary and PRO, NPSWUNPSWU extends its sincere congratulations to Mr Sihle Buthelezi and thanks every member who participated in the competition. Every new member recruited represents another voice strengthened and another worker empowered through collective representation.
As the campaign concludes, NPSWU remains committed to introducing innovative initiatives that reward member participation while continuing to build a stronger, united union for public service workers across South Africa.
Congratulations once again to Mr Sihle Buthelezi, and thank you to everyone who made the Recruit & Win Competition 2026 a memorable success.
